Bio
Music has always been a passion for George Haskell. He has been playing, singing or listening to music of one kind or another for most of his life. He plays finger-style acoustic guitar and banjo and sings in a clear strong tenor voice. Recently he has started song writing and sings and plays original songs His repertoire also includes a wide range of folk, pop, country and Motown. More than just covering these old favorites he strives to interpret them and make them his own.
His taste in music derives from years of listening and singing along. As a child he loved listening to oldies on the radio and listening to his transistor radio under his pillow after bedtime. Playing saxophone through high school, college and in a rock and roll band broadened his musical interests. Once in college he had the opportunity to start playing guitar then banjo. Years of campfire music consolidated his skills. At first as part on a small group, then as a solo act he became used to performing in front of a microphone.
These days he plays at restaurants and wineries in the Murphys area. He also had the pleasure of playing on Santa Cruz's legendary radio station KPIG, 107.5. George played three original songs on Suday Morning's "Please Stand By". He is looking forward ready to undertake new musical adventures.
